From the Yard 5: Salticus Scenicus

It was a beautiful day today and I tried to take some photographs while I was out and about.

While visiting my parents house, I noticed this spider, which is one a type which I have noticed many times before. You probably have seen it around your house; sometimes people find them indoors. It is (Latin name: Salticus Scenicus / Common name: Zebra Spider) and it's species is a member of the family of Jumping Spiders. It moves in quick little jumps. Watch out!

They also react properly to stimuli. If I put my finger near them they'll run away from it, and if I put my finger in front of where they're going, they'll turn and run away again. Unlike stupid critters like ants, they'll just run into my finger after the first scare.
