I had this post sitting as a draft for a while, and although I was going to delete it, I'm going to let it through due to my lack of content lately. The reason I'm hesitant? As they say, discussions about politics or religion usually end up with broken noses. --Editor :)

Before Bush's first election in 2001, I didn't care if either he or Al Gore won presidency. That's because prior to that date I have never concerned myself with politics. I wasn't long out of of high school, and I honestly didn't believe it mattered in the long run who was elected into office.

By the 2004 election my views on the world became more clear, as by that date I've seen what unbelievable control over the entire Earth that the President of the United States has, and I began asking myself questions on what I believe is right or wrong on most of the issues plaguing our societies today. It became very obvious (very quickly) that I was amazingly left-wing on most every subject, and found myself rooting for the Liberal and Democratic party in Canada and the United States. Furthermore, I seem to share a lot of libertarian views, and strongly believe in the absolute right of the individual, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, or sexuality. Most people in North America would probably say that they share these ideals, although if you look around you or at some of the laws we live by, it becomes apparent that a lot do not.

Onto the point of this post. I have spent some time researching the potential candidates for the 2008 American election and have two people to talk about. These two people, as fas as I have gathered from articles and interviews, are the complete opposite of each other.

One is Michael Huckabee who I think is the furthest away from my idealistic president of America, and the other is Dennis Kucinich, who I think shares (very much so) my idealogical views of society.

In a nutshell, one is a peace seeking, kyoto-ratifying, death-penalty abolishing, womens choice supporting, homosexual rights approving, patriot act abolishing, gun controlling, keeping-only-science-in-the-science-classroom sort of guy.

The other guy.... isn't. Unfortunately, poor ol' Dennis doesn't have a name the American people will vote for. They want an American Pie name like... Huckabee :(

In all seriousness, I think neither of these two candidates will become leaders in their respective parties, because each are too far on their respective wing for the wishy-washy SUV drivers to vote for. You need to please everyone.. Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others!
